Our Mission
Following the traditions of the Sisters of St. Philip Neri, the St. Jerome Catholic family challenges students to achieve spiritual, academic, social, moral, and physical excellence within a safe, joyful and nurturing environment.
Our Vision
The vision of the SJS family is to be recognized as the center where excellence in education, spiritual formation and service to the community provide educational and spiritual leadership in our community. The school will focus on optimizing the academic programs that meet the needs of all students. Further, the school shall be recognized by its stakeholders for its excellence in education, its spiritual and caring climate and its accountability for financial performance.
Location
The school is located at 2601 S.W. 9th Ave. Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33315. It is east of I-95, one block south of SR 84, just 5 minutes from downtown Ft. Lauderdale.
School of Promise
In 2002, St. Jerome School became an active participant in the nationally acclaimed “America’s Promise-The Alliance for Youth,” which was established in 1997 under the leadership of Founding Chairman General Colin Powell at the President's Summit for America’s Youth where Presidents Ford, Carter, Bush and Clinton along with First Lady Nancy Reagan, who represented President Reagan, challenged the nation to make youth a national priority.
As a School of Promise, we have pledged to ensure that every student at St. Jerome School has access to the alliance’s “Five Promises”: 1) An ongoing relationship with a caring adult; 2) A safe place during both school and non-school hours; 3) A healthy start and lifestyle; 4) A marketable skill; and 5) An opportunity to give back to the community through service.
Additionally, we have pledged to develop and maintain a formal collaboration between school and community; to engage a diverse team of young people, school officials, businesses, nonprofit organizations, and communities of faith.
