How many children do you have that either attend or attended SJS? 3 3. What is the city where you currently live? Plantation 4. What impact has SJS had on your family? Our participation in the SJS community has been life changing for all our children. The values, education and relationships we have gained have not only prepared our children for a larger world; our children have been prepared and inspired to change the world for the better. 5. 5. What would you tell a prospective SJS family about SJS? SJS gives an opportunity for a small-town experience, a close-knit community which becomes a welcoming family. The education is truly taught by the precepts of the Sisters of St. Philip Neri: with simplicity, flexibility and joy. Our daughters gained the ability to present their opinions; to understand the joy of community service; to communicate with adults; and a desire to continue in high school and beyond living the path they were shown at SJS. Our son, who has special learning needs, gained the possibility of a future when he was accepted at SJS. The opportunities he was provided would not have been available anywhere else. True to the school’s values, the school made available to other students the same programs which benefited our son. Every professional who knows him agrees that St. Jerome School was the ideal environment for him to flourish, and that his presence in the school has not only been the making of him, but that the other students have learned lessons in inclusion and empathy which will make them prepared to see the value in all God’s people. 6. What is your occupation? We are parents, and we both attorneys. Most of all, we are proud members of the St. Jerome community – our real family is there.
