Junior National Leadership Conference Participiant
Andrea Ociepka, a seventh grade student at SJS, was selected by the Junior National Leadership Council to attend their annual conference in Washington D.C. this past month.Andrea was nominated by her school's academic advisor to represent our school "because she exhibited strong traits in leadership, maturity and academics both on and off the campus."
The conference is designed to nurture existing leadership qualities in young people from throughout the United States by expanding their boundaries of thinking and communication. While visiting the nation's capital during the five-day event she chronicled her experience by compiling a photographic and literary journal which she shared with her classmates upon returning to SJS.
The highlight of Andrea's trip was a tour of the National Institute of Health in Bethesda, MD. She was guided through the facility by Dr. Richard Childs, Director of Immunology and an alumnus of SJS. |
